Biography
Alexander Beyer is a German actor born in Erfurt in 1973. He studied briefly at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst 'Ernst Busch' in Berlin before leaving after two semesters. He began working in film in 1997 with a role in Frank Beyer's television adaptation of Der Hauptmann von Köpenick.
Beyer is known for his performance as Rainer in Wolfgang Becker's Good Bye, Lenin! (2003). Earlier screen roles include Sonnenallee (2000) and The Legend of Rita (1999). Subsequent credits encompass Munich (2005), The Fifth Estate (2013) as Marcel Rosenbach, Operation Mincemeat (2022) as Karl Kuhlenthal and the television series Deutschland (2015) as Tobias Tischbier. He has also appeared in Persian Lessons (2020) and The Little Drummer Girl (2018). Beyer lives and works in Zurich and Berlin.
