Biography
Alexander Hanson is a Norwegian-English actor. Born on 28 April 1961 in Oslo, Norway, he trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and has worked extensively in theatre, film and television.
He is known for West End and Broadway stage roles including Fredrik Egerman in A Little Night Music (2009–2010) and Captain Georg von Trapp in the 2006 revival of The Sound of Music. His screen credits include appearances in Killing Eve (2018), The Diplomat (2023), Endeavour (2013), Father Brown (2013), Midsomer Murders (1997–2021) and How to Make a Killing (2026) as McArthur Redfellow.
Hanson has been married to actress Samantha Bond since 1989; they have two children.
