Biography
Alice Braga Moraes is a Brazilian actress and producer. Born on 15 April 1983 in São Paulo, she is the daughter of actress Ana Braga and niece of actress Sônia Braga. She began acting as a child, appearing in a commercial at the age of eight and a short film, Trampolim, in 1998.
Braga gained attention for her role as Angélica in the Brazilian crime film City of God (2002). She followed this with parts in Lower City (2005) and Only God Knows (2006), while briefly attending university. Her English-language debut came in Journey to the End of the Night (2006).
She rose to international prominence opposite Will Smith in I Am Legend (2007) and has since appeared in Hollywood films including Predators (2010), Elysium (2013), The Suicide Squad (2021) and Soul (2020, voice). From 2016 to 2021 she starred as Teresa Mendoza in the television series Queen of the South.
