Biography
Alicia Witt is an American actress and musician. Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, she was discovered by director David Lynch after a television appearance reciting Shakespeare at the age of five. Lynch cast her as Alia in the film Dune (1984), marking her screen debut at the age of eight.
Witt trained as a pianist, studying at Boston University and competing nationally. Her subsequent film roles include Four Rooms (1995), Vanilla Sky (2001) and I Care a Lot (2021). On television she has appeared in The Sopranos (1999), The Mentalist (2008), The Walking Dead (2010) and Orange Is the New Black (2013). She played Ruth Harker in Longlegs (2024).
