Biography
Alison Barnett is a British television producer and production executive. Born in March 1953 in Manchester, she began her career in theatre stage management before joining the BBC drama department in 1979 as a floor assistant. She went freelance in 1985 and worked as a location manager, assistant director and line producer on numerous series.
Her credits include line producer on Bleak House (2005), Hustle (2004) and MI-5 (2003), and earlier work as location manager on Edge of Darkness (1985). Since 2005 she has been Head of Production at Kudos Film and Television, overseeing more than 400 hours of television output.
Barnett received the BAFTA Television Craft Special Award in 2023 in recognition of her contributions to the production office and her role as one of the first female heads of production in UK television.
