Biography

Allan Heinberg is an American screenwriter, television writer and producer, and comic book writer. Born on 29 June 1967 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he graduated from Yale University. After working in theatre, he moved into television writing, with credits including Party of Five (1998–2000), Gilmore Girls (2002) and Grey's Anatomy (2006–2010).

His other television work includes Sex and the City, The O.C., Looking, Scandal and The Catch, which he developed and ran. Heinberg wrote the screenplay for the film Wonder Woman (2017). In comics, he co-created Young Avengers for Marvel Comics with Jim Cheung and relaunched Wonder Woman for DC Comics with Terry and Rachel Dodson. He also developed the Netflix series The Sandman (2022).
