Biography
Allison Anders is an American film and television director and screenwriter. She graduated from the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television and made her feature debut with Border Radio (1987), co-directed with Kurt Voss.
Her independent films include Gas Food Lodging (1992), Mi Vida Loca (1993) and Grace of My Heart (1996). She has directed episodes of numerous television series, including Sex and the City (1998), The L Word (2004), The Mentalist (2008), Orange Is the New Black (2013) and Riverdale (2017).
Anders received a MacArthur Fellowship in 1995 and a Peabody Award in 2002 for Things Behind the Sun (2001).
