Biography
Amanda Burton is a Northern Irish actress born on 10 October 1956 in Derry. She trained at the Manchester School of Theatre and began her screen career in the early 1980s.
She first became known for playing Heather Haversham in the Channel 4 soap opera Brookside (1982–1986). Subsequent television roles include Margaret Daly in Boon (1987–1988), Sam Ryan in Silent Witness (1996–2004, 2022), Clare Blake in The Commander (2003–2008), Karen Fisher in Waterloo Road (2010–2011) and Katherine Maguire in Marcella (2020). Film credits include Charlie's Mum in Bronson (2009).
Other appearances encompass guest roles in series such as Inspector Morse, Midsomer Murders, Agatha Christie's Marple and White House Farm.
