Biography
Nicholas Laughland was a British television director. Born in Newport, Monmouthshire, he began his career in the late 1970s as a floor manager on the soap opera Crossroads and worked in production roles at the BBC before completing the BBC directors’ course. He directed episodes of series including Brookside and The Bill.
Laughland directed episodes of Lovejoy (1993), Boon (1990–1992) and nine episodes of Midsomer Murders (2011–2018). Other credits include New Tricks, Lewis, Wire in the Blood, Wild at Heart and the television film Under the Greenwood Tree (2005). He died in 2020.
