Biography
Douglas Watkinson is an English screenwriter, novelist and playwright. He has written hundreds of television scripts, including episodes of Midsomer Murders (from 1998), Lovejoy (from 1991) and Boon (from 1986). He also contributed to Agatha Christie's Poirot, The Bill, Howards' Way and Forever Green.
Watkinson trained at East 15 Acting School. He began his career writing plays for BBC television and later became script editor on series including Z-Cars. His stage plays include The Dragon's Tail, which ran in the West End. He has also written a series of crime novels featuring the detective Nathan Hawk.
