Biography
Moira Armstrong is a Scottish television director. Born in Crieff in 1930, she trained as a continuity announcer in BBC Radio before moving into television.
Her early credits include episodes of Z-Cars (1962) and Play for Today (1970). She directed the 1971 BBC Scotland adaptation Sunset Song and, with Jonathan Powell, won the 1980 BAFTA award for Best Drama Series/Serial for Testament of Youth (1979). Later work includes episodes of Boon (1986), The Bill, Midsomer Murders (1997) and Lark Rise to Candleford.
