Biography
Peter Cregeen (born 28 January 1940 in Wandsworth, London) is a British television director, producer and executive. He began directing for television in the 1960s, with credits including episodes of Z-Cars (1962) and Play for Today (1970).
Cregeen was the original director of the pilot for ITV's The Bill (originally titled Woodentop, 1983) and directed and produced numerous episodes of the series through the 1980s and 1990s. He later directed an episode of Midsomer Murders (1997) in 1999. From 1989 to 1993 he served as Head of Series for BBC television drama, during which he cancelled Doctor Who after its 26th season.
