Biography
Amy Brenneman is an American actress and producer. She graduated from Harvard University in 1987 with a degree in comparative religion and co-founded the Cornerstone Theater Company, with which she toured for several years performing in community productions.
Brenneman first gained prominence as Detective Janice Licalsi in the ABC series NYPD Blue (1993–1994). She co-created and starred as the title character in the CBS series Judging Amy (1999–2005). Her film roles include Eady in Heat (1995), Laura Walker in Fear (1996) and Madelyne Thompson in Daylight (1996). She has also appeared in Private Practice (2007–2013) and The Leftovers (2014–2017). Brenneman is married to director Brad Silberling.
