Biography

Andrea Guerra is an Italian composer. He was born in October 1961 in Santarcangelo di Romagna and is the son of poet and screenwriter Tonino Guerra. After studying composition and arrangement under maestro Ettore Ballotta, he began his career composing for nature documentaries before moving into feature films.

Guerra is known for his scores for Facing Windows (2003), Hotel Rwanda (2004), The Pursuit of Happyness (2006) and Nine (2009). He has also composed for films by directors including Ferzan Özpetek and for Indian productions such as Fan (2016). His work on Hotel Rwanda earned a European Film Award for Best Composer in 2005 (shared), and he received a David di Donatello Award for Best Composer for Facing Windows.
