Biography

Aneurin Barnard is a Welsh actor. He was born on 8 May 1987 in Ogwr, Mid Glamorgan, Wales.

He trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, graduating in 2008. His stage work includes the lead role in the London production of the musical Spring Awakening, for which he won a Laurence Olivier Award in 2010.

Barnard is known for his film roles including Guy in Ironclad (2011), Gibson in Dunkirk (2017), Boris Pavlikovsky in The Goldfinch (2019) and Steerforth in The Personal History of David Copperfield (2019). On television he has appeared as Richard III in The White Queen (2013), Doctor Holford in Peaky Blinders (2013) and Daniel Solace in 1899 (2022).
