Biography
Anne-Marie Duff is a British actress. Born on 8 October 1970 in Southall, London, she trained at Drama Centre London.
She first gained prominence as Fiona Gallagher in the television series Shameless (2004–2005). Subsequent television roles include Elizabeth I in The Virgin Queen (2006), Ma Costa in His Dark Materials (2019), Erin Wiley in Sex Education (2020–2021), and Grace Reilly in Bad Sisters (2022–2024). Film credits include The Magdalene Sisters (2002), Notes on a Scandal (2006), Nowhere Boy (2009), Suffragette (2015), and On Chesil Beach (2018).
Duff has received multiple BAFTA nominations, including for Shameless, The Virgin Queen and Nowhere Boy. She won the BAFTA Television Award for Best Supporting Actress for Bad Sisters in 2023.
