Biography
Anthony Masters (1919–1990), also credited as Tony Masters, was a British production designer and set decorator. His career spanned from 1949 to 1987.
Masters served as production designer on 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Art Direction. Other production design credits include Papillon (1973), The Deep (1977), Dune (1984) and The Clan of the Cave Bear (1986). He contributed art direction to Lawrence of Arabia (1962) and The Heroes of Telemark (1965).
He was married to actress Heather Sears from 1957 until his death. Two of their sons, Giles Masters and Dominic Masters, also work as production designers.
