Biography
April Shih is an American television writer and producer. Born on 30 April 1985 in Torrance, California, she has written episodes of You're the Worst (2019), Mrs. America (2020), Undone (2022), DAVE (2021) and Fargo (2023). She has also worked as a producer on several of these series, including as co-executive producer on season five of Fargo.
Shih is a recipient of the TV Academy Foundation comedy writing internship and a fellow of the Sundance Episodic Story Lab, the CAPE New Writers Fellowship and the inaugural Film Independent Episodic Lab. In 2021 she signed an overall deal with FX Productions and launched her production company Diversity Hire Ltd. with partner Jen Goyne Blake. She previously produced an Ovation Award-winning revival of Kiss of the Spider Woman: The Musical.
