Biography
Arthur Darvill is an English actor and composer. Born Thomas Arthur Darvill on 17 June 1982 in Birmingham, he trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and began his career in theatre and early television roles including Edward 'Tip' Dorrit in Little Dorrit (2008) and a groom in Robin Hood (2010).
He is known for portraying Rory Williams, companion to the Eleventh Doctor, in Doctor Who (2010–2012). Other notable television roles include Reverend Paul Coates in Broadchurch (2013–2017), Rip Hunter in DC's Legends of Tomorrow (2016–2021) and Richard Madoc in The Sandman (2022). In 2013–2014 he played the lead male role in the musical Once in the West End and on Broadway.
