Biography
Arthur Lappin is an Irish film, television and stage producer. He began his feature film work as line producer on Now I Know (1988) and established a long collaboration with director Jim Sheridan, serving as line producer on My Left Foot (1989) and The Field (1990), co-producer on In the Name of the Father (1993), and producer on Some Mother's Son (1996), The Boxer (1997) and In America (2002).
He is managing director of the production company Hell's Kitchen, which he founded with Sheridan in 1992. Earlier in his career he was Drama and Dance director of the Irish Arts Council and, with Ben Barnes, co-founded the theatrical production company Groundwork Productions in 1988. He has also produced documentaries and over twenty stage productions.
Lappin was founding chairman of Screen Training Ireland and of The Ark children's cultural centre in Dublin (1994–2002). He received the Stanley Kramer Award from the Producers Guild of America in 2004.
