Biography
Barbie Kligman is an American television writer and producer. She began her career in Los Angeles as an assistant on ER before becoming a researcher for John Wells Productions and a staff writer on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2003–2004), where she received writing, story and teleplay credits.
She wrote episodes of Jack & Bobby (2004–2005), Everwood (2005–2006), CSI: NY (2007–2009) and The Vampire Diaries (2009–2010). Kligman also held producing positions including supervising producer on CSI: NY and co-executive producer on The Vampire Diaries and Private Practice (2010–2012), where she was later promoted to executive producer and co-showrunner.
She developed and served as showrunner on Secrets and Lies (2015–2016). Kligman has been executive producer and showrunner on Magnum P.I. (2018–2024) and Doc (2025–).
