Biography
John Behring is an American television director, cinematographer and producer. He was born in Canton, South Dakota, and holds bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of South Dakota. He began his career in local television at WISN-TV in Milwaukee before moving into commercials and then to Los Angeles, where he worked on main titles and opening sequences for television shows from the early 1990s.
Behring's directorial debut was the 1995 CBS Schoolbreak Special "My Indian Summer". His first episodic drama credit was an episode of The Lazarus Man in 1996. He has since directed more than 130 episodes across numerous series, including Law & Order (1990), Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999), The Vampire Diaries (2009), The Mentalist (2008), The Flash (2014), Arrow (2012), The 100 (2014), Gotham (2014), Grimm (2011), Charmed (1998) and Ghost Whisperer (2005). He also served as supervising producer on NUMB3RS for three seasons.
