Biography
James Hayman, also credited as Jim Hayman, is an American television director, producer and cinematographer. He was born in Paterson, New Jersey.
After graduating from New York University Graduate Film School, he worked as a cinematographer on films including An Autumn’s Tale (for which he won a Hong Kong Film Award) and television series such as Northern Exposure, where he directed his first episode. He has directed episodes of The Sopranos (2002), House (2004), Desperate Housewives (2004), The Mentalist (2008), Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999) and NCIS: New Orleans (2014), among others. He served as executive producer on Ugly Betty and NCIS: New Orleans.
Hayman has received Primetime Emmy Award nominations and a Directors Guild of America Award nomination. He is married to actress Annie Potts.
