Biography

Constantine Makris is a Greek-American cinematographer, television director and producer. He worked as director of photography on 156 episodes of Law & Order (1990–2001) and later directed 63 episodes of the series and its spin-offs.

Makris has directed episodes of numerous series, including 30 Rock (2009), Orange Is the New Black (2013–2019), Warehouse 13 (2009–2012), Criminal Minds, The Americans and Manifest. He won three Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series for his work on Law & Order (1993, 1997 and 1998).

He studied political science and entered the industry without formal cinematography training, beginning with roles such as grip and camera operator before collaborating with established directors.
