Biography
Steve Shill is a British television and film director, producer, screenwriter and actor. He trained at Leeds University in fine art and began in experimental theatre as a member of Impact Theatre Co-operative before completing the BBC Drama Director's Course.
He directed episodes of British series including EastEnders and Casualty, then moved to the United States where his credits include The Sopranos (1999), The Wire (2002), Deadwood (2004, for which he was also a writer), The West Wing (1999), Dexter and The Tudors. He won a Primetime Emmy for directing an episode of Dexter and received a Writers Guild of America nomination for his work on Deadwood. His feature film directorial debut was Obsessed (2009).
