Biography
Bathsheba Sarah Lee 'Bash' Doran is a British playwright and television writer. She grew up in London and is the daughter of Elizabethan historian Susan Doran. She holds a BA and MA from Cambridge University, an MA from the University of Oxford, an MFA from Columbia University, and was a playwriting fellow at the Juilliard School. She moved to the United States in 2000 on a Fulbright Scholarship.
Doran began her professional writing career in British comedy sketch shows, including additional material for Bruiser and Smack the Pony. Her plays include Kin (2011) and The Mystery of Love and Sex (2015). On television she has written for Boardwalk Empire (2010), for which she received a Writers Guild of America nomination, Smash (2012), Masters of Sex (2013), and The Looming Tower (2018). She created the series Traitors (2019) and co-wrote the screenplay for Outlaw King (2018). She lives in New York City.
