Biography
David Flebotte was an American television writer and producer. He was born in Hanson, Massachusetts, and studied at Emerson College. He began his career writing for sitcoms in the 1990s, including story editor and writer roles on The 5 Mrs. Buchanans and Ellen.
Flebotte contributed teleplays and scripts to series including The Sopranos (2002), Will & Grace, The Bernie Mac Show, 8 Simple Rules, Desperate Housewives and Boardwalk Empire. He created the series Sherri (2009) and co-created I'm Dying Up Here (2017). He also wrote the film Just Before I Go (2015). Flebotte received a Primetime Emmy nomination for The PJs (1999) and Writers Guild of America nominations for Boardwalk Empire.
His later credits included writing and producing on Masters of Sex and Tulsa King (2022–2024). Flebotte died on 8 July 2025 in Missoula, Montana.
