Biography
Benito Stefanelli (2 September 1928 – 18 December 1999) was an Italian actor, stuntman and weapons master. He appeared in more than sixty films between 1955 and 1991, frequently in supporting roles in Spaghetti Westerns.
He is known for his work in Sergio Leone's Dollars trilogy, playing Rubio in A Fistful of Dollars (1964), Luke 'Hughie' in For a Few Dollars More (1965) and a member of Angel Eyes' gang in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966). He also appeared in other Leone films including Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) and Duck, You Sucker (1971), as well as The Big Gundown (1967), My Name Is Nobody (1973) and Trinity Is Still My Name (1971).
Stefanelli often served as stunt coordinator and weapons master on the productions in which he acted. A fluent English speaker, he worked as an interpreter for Clint Eastwood on the set of A Fistful of Dollars.
