Biography
Betty Lou Gerson was an American actress active in radio, film, television and voice work. Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, she began her professional radio career in Chicago in 1935 and became a mainstay of daytime serials before moving to Los Angeles in the 1940s.
She is best known for voicing Cruella de Vil and Miss Birdwell in the Disney animated film One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1961), for which she was named a Disney Legend in 1996. Earlier she narrated Cinderella (1950). Her other credits include the narrator role in Cinderella (1950), a small part in Mary Poppins (1964), and voice work in Cats Don't Dance (1997), as well as guest appearances on series such as Perry Mason, The Twilight Zone and The Rifleman.
