Biography
Bibi Besch (born Bibiana Maria Köchert) was an Austrian-American actress who worked in film, television and stage. She was born in Vienna on 1 February 1942 and died in Los Angeles on 7 September 1996.
She appeared in numerous television productions and films. Her credits include Dr Carol Marcus in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982), Belle Marmillion in Steel Magnolias (1989) and Megan in Tremors (1990). She received two Primetime Emmy Award nominations.
Besch was the daughter of actress Gusti Huber and racing driver Gotfrid Köchert. Her daughter, Samantha Mathis, is also an actress.
