Biography

Bill Buell is an American actor born on 21 September 1952 in Taipei, Taiwan. He attended Portland State University and trained at the East 15 Acting School in England, later studying in New York.

Buell has an extensive stage career, with Broadway appearances including Titanic (1997), Urinetown (2001), The History Boys (2006), Inherit the Wind (2007) and Cyrano de Bergerac (2012). Off-Broadway and regional theatre credits include work with Shakespeare in the Park.

His film roles include Mr. Wiener in Welcome to the Dollhouse (1996), the court doctor in Requiem for a Dream (2000), Fred Kappler in Spy Game (2001) and appearances in Across the Universe (2007) and The Box (2009). Television credits encompass Boardwalk Empire, Elementary, Marvel's Daredevil and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
