Biography
Bill Kong, also credited as William Kong or Kong Chi-keung, is a Hong Kong film producer and head of Edko Films. He began in distribution and exhibition before moving into production in the 1990s.
He is best known for his work on international co-productions including Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000), Hero (2002), House of Flying Daggers (2004), Fearless (2006), Curse of the Golden Flower (2006) and Lust, Caution (2007). More recent credits include The Flowers of War (2011), Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons (2013), Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms (2023) and The Furious (2026).
Kong received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, which also won a BAFTA for Best Film. He has won multiple Hong Kong Film Awards and Golden Horse Awards for Best Film.
