Biography

Bill Sage, also credited as William Sage or William Sage III, is an American actor. Born on 3 April 1962 in New York City, he graduated from the State University of New York at Purchase.

He is known for his frequent collaborations with director Hal Hartley, appearing in films including The Unbelievable Truth (1989), Trust (1990), Simple Men (1992) and Flirt (1995). Sage played David Van Patten in American Psycho (2000) and has appeared in more than 90 films, among them We Are What We Are (2013), Every Secret Thing (2014) and Wrong Turn (2021). On television he has had roles in series including Nurse Jackie, Hap and Leonard, Power and Orange Is the New Black.
