Biography

Brian Dennehy was an American actor known for his work in film, television and theatre. He was born Brian Manion Dennehy on 9 July 1938 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and died on 15 April 2020.

Dennehy appeared as Ted Montague in Romeo + Juliet (1996) and as Raymond Horgan in Presumed Innocent (1990). Other film roles include Sheriff Will Teasle in First Blood (1982), Walter in Cocoon (1985) and the voice of Django in Ratatouille (2007). He also featured in The Blacklist (2013) as Dominic Wilkinson.

On stage, Dennehy won two Tony Awards for Best Actor in a Play, for Death of a Salesman (1999) and Long Day's Journey into Night (2003). He received six Primetime Emmy Award nominations for his television work.
