Biography
Brian Tanen is a television writer and producer. He graduated from Yale College and received an MFA from the NYU Tisch Department of Dramatic Writing. Before working in television, he was a playwright and won the Kennedy Center’s John Cauble Prize for his one-act play The Man of Infinite Sadness.
Tanen began his television career as a writer on Ugly Betty (2006) and Grey's Anatomy (2005), where he also served as executive story editor. He went on to write for Desperate Housewives (2004), Devious Maids (2013), Atypical (2017) and Love, Victor (2020), serving as executive producer or co-showrunner on several of these series. He created the ABC series Grand Hotel (2019).
