Biography
Brian West is a British cinematographer. Born in London in 1928, he began his career in the British film industry as a camera assistant at Shepperton Studios and later worked as a camera operator under cinematographers including Oswald Morris.
He served as director of photography on Wake in Fright (1971), directed by Ted Kotcheff. His other credits as cinematographer include 84 Charing Cross Road (1987) and Jacknife (1989), while earlier roles included camera operator on films such as The Guns of Navarone (1961), The Spy Who Came in from the Cold (1965) and Hatari! (1962). He also worked as second unit director of photography on Spies Like Us (1985).
West contributed to numerous feature films and television productions through the 1990s, including episodes of the series Remington Steele.
