Biography
Bruce Kirby (born Bruno Giovanni Quidaciolu) was an American character actor. Born in New York City on 28 April 1925, he trained at the Actors Studio under Lee Strasberg and began his career on stage around 1950 before moving into television in the mid-1950s.
He appeared in numerous guest roles across series including Bonanza, MASH, The West Wing and The Sopranos, with recurring parts as Sergeant George Kramer in Columbo and District Attorney Bruce Rogoff in L.A. Law. His film credits include The Muppet Movie (1979), Stand by Me (1986) as Mr. Quidacioluo, Throw Momma from the Train (1987) and Crash* (2005). Kirby retired from acting in 2009 and died in Los Angeles on 24 January 2021. He was the father of actor Bruno Kirby.
