Biography

Bruno Cesari (1933–2004) was an Italian art director and set decorator. He was born and died in Pesaro.

Cesari worked extensively in Italian and international cinema from the 1960s onwards. He contributed set decoration or art direction to films including Once Upon a Time in America (1984), The Last Emperor (1987), Little Buddha (1993), The Legend of 1900 (1998) and The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999). He received production design credits on The Last Emperor and later films such as His Secret Life (2001).

He shared an Academy Award for Best Art Direction for The Last Emperor and received a further nomination in the same category for The Talented Mr. Ripley.
