Biography
Bruno Rubeo was an Italian production designer. Born in Rome in 1946, he graduated from the Scuola Statale di Cinematografia di Roma and began working in film in the early 1980s.
He served as production designer on Oliver Stone’s Platoon (1986), Salvador (1986), Talk Radio (1988) and Born on the Fourth of July (1989). He also worked on Driving Miss Daisy (1989), for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Art Direction, Kindergarten Cop (1990), Bound by Honor (1993), The Client (1994), Dolores Claiborne (1995), The Devil’s Advocate (1997), The Thomas Crown Affair (1999) and Proof of Life (2000). His longest collaboration was with director Taylor Hackford.
Rubeo died in Italy in 2011. He was married to costume designer Mayes C. Rubeo; their son Marco Rubeo is an art director.
