Biography
C. Thomas Howell is an American actor and director. He made his film debut in a supporting role as Tyler in Steven Spielberg's E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982).
Howell was born on 7 December 1966 in the Van Nuys neighbourhood of Los Angeles, California. His father worked as a stunt coordinator and rodeo performer. Howell graduated from Saugus High School in 1984. His breakthrough came with the lead role of Ponyboy Curtis in Francis Ford Coppola's The Outsiders (1983), for which he received a Young Artist Award. Other early film roles include Red Dawn (1984), Secret Admirer (1985) and The Hitcher (1986).
He has appeared in numerous television series, including Criminal Minds (2005) as George Foyet, Sons of Anarchy (2008), Castle (2009), The Walking Dead (2010), Grimm (2011), The Blacklist (2013) and Marvel's The Punisher (2017).
