Biography
Carrie Brownstein is an American musician, actress, writer and director. Born in Seattle, Washington, on 27 September 1974, she first came to prominence as a member of the punk rock band Excuse 17 before forming Sleater-Kinney. She co-created, wrote and starred in the sketch comedy series Portlandia (2011–2018) alongside Fred Armisen.
Brownstein has acted in films including Carol (2015), as Genevieve Cantrell, and Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far on Foot (2018). She has directed episodes of television series such as Mrs. Fletcher (2019) and A.P. Bio (2018), and provided voice work for The Simpsons and Archer.
