Biography
Carrie Preston is an American actress, director and producer. Born on 21 June 1967 in Macon, Georgia, she trained at the University of Evansville and the Juilliard School.
She is known for her television roles as Arlene Fowler in True Blood (2008–2014), Elsbeth Tascioni in The Good Wife (2010–2016) and its spin-offs The Good Fight (2017–2022) and Elsbeth (2024–present), and Grace Hendricks in Person of Interest (2011–2016). Film credits include My Best Friend's Wedding (1997), Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008), To the Bone (2017) and The Holdovers (2023) as Miss Lydia Crane. She received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for The Good Wife. Preston is married to actor Michael Emerson.
