Biography

Chris Abbott (born 17 September 1947) is an American television writer and producer, also credited early in her career as Chris Abbott-Fish. She graduated from the University of Oregon and holds an MFA from Bennington College.

Abbott began writing for Little House on the Prairie (1974) and contributed episodes to Cagney & Lacey (1982), Magnum, P.I. (1980), Quantum Leap (1989), Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman (1993), Diagnosis: Murder (1993) and Star Trek: Voyager (1995). She served as producer or story consultant on several of these series and created the series Legacy (1998). Later credits include work on the daytime serials The Bold and the Beautiful (1987) and The Young and the Restless (1973), for which she received a Daytime Emmy nomination in 2006. She is the author of the 2005 book Ten Minutes to the Pitch.
