Biography
Reza Badiyi was an Iranian-born American film and television director. Born in Arak, Iran, he began his career making documentaries there before moving to the United States in 1955. He studied at Syracuse University and later directed numerous episodes of American television series from the late 1960s onwards.
Badiyi directed episodes of series including Mission: Impossible, Hawaii Five-O, Get Smart, The Rockford Files, The Incredible Hulk, Cagney & Lacey, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Baywatch, Sliders and Buffy the Vampire Slayer (the 1997 episode 'Out of Mind, Out of Sight'). He also developed the title sequence montages for Mission: Impossible, Hawaii Five-O, Get Smart and The Mary Tyler Moore Show. He set a Directors Guild of America record for the most hours of episodic series television directed.
