Biography
Alexander Singer (also credited as Alex Singer) was an American television and film director. He began his career in 1951 as a cinematographer on the short documentary Day of the Fight, directed by his high-school friend Stanley Kubrick, before turning to directing a decade later with the feature A Cold Wind in August.
Singer directed episodes of numerous television series, including The Fugitive (1963), Mission: Impossible (1966), MacGyver (1985), Murder, She Wrote (1984), Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987), Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993) and Star Trek: Voyager (1995). His feature film credits include the western Captain Apache (1971) and Glass Houses (1972). He won a Primetime Emmy Award.
