Biography
Corey Allen (born Alan Cohen) was an American actor and television director. He began his career as an actor and is best known for playing Buzz Gunderson in Nicholas Ray's Rebel Without a Cause (1955).
After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from UCLA in 1954, Allen appeared in films including Party Girl (1958) and The Chapman Report (1962), and in television series such as Perry Mason and Alfred Hitchcock Presents. He later turned to directing, helming episodes of series including Dallas (1978), Hill Street Blues (1981), Murder, She Wrote (1984), Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987) and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993). He received a Directors Guild of America nomination and an Emmy Award for his work on Hill Street Blues.
Allen died on 27 June 2010 in Los Angeles.
