Biography

Cliff Bole was an American television director. Born Clifford John Bole on 9 November 1937 in San Francisco, California, he died on 15 February 2014 in Palm Desert, California.

He directed episodes of numerous series, including four of The X-Files. Bole is best known for his work on the Star Trek franchise, directing 25 episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation, seven of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and ten of Star Trek: Voyager. He also directed episodes of The Six Million Dollar Man, Charlie's Angels, MacGyver, Baywatch and Millennium.

Bole began his career as a script clerk and production assistant after growing up in the San Fernando Valley. An alien species in the Star Trek universe, the Bolians, was named in his honour. He received a Golden Palm Star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars in 2005.
