Biography
Chip Chalmers is a television and theatre director. He began working in television as production coordinator at 20th Century Fox Television in Los Angeles in 1979. He joined the Directors Guild of America in 1981 and worked as an assistant director on series including Miami Vice until 1993.
His directing debut came in 1989 with the Miami Vice episode "The Lost Madonna". He went on to direct episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Beverly Hills, 90210, Melrose Place and 7th Heaven. A character named Captain Chip Chalmers appeared in an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation in his honour. He later taught in the film department at Florida State University.
