Biography

Christian Friedel is a German actor and singer. He was born on 9 March 1979 in Magdeburg, then in East Germany.

He trained at the Otto Falckenberg School of the Performing Arts in Munich and has worked extensively in German theatre, including at the Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel, Munich Kammerspiele, Schauspiel Hannover and Staatsschauspiel Dresden.

Friedel is known for his film and television roles as the schoolteacher in The White Ribbon (2009), Reinhold Gräf in Babylon Berlin (2017–), Rudolf Höss in The Zone of Interest (2023) and Fabian in season three of The White Lotus (2025). He is also a musician with the band Woods of Birnam.
