Biography

Chuck Adamson was an American television writer, producer and former police officer. Born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1936, he served as a sergeant detective with the Chicago Police Department from 1958 to 1974.

He wrote four episodes of the series Miami Vice (1984–1986) and co-created the crime drama Crime Story (1986), for which he also wrote and served as coordinating producer. Adamson worked as a technical advisor with director Michael Mann on films including Thief (1981), Beverly Hills Cop (1984) and Heat (1995), the latter based on one of his cases. He appeared in small acting roles in several productions.

Adamson died in Roseburg, Oregon, in 2008.
